Todman, Lutrus to play
Jordan Todman and Scott Lutrus are not on the injury report, and we can assume that they are cleared and will play this Saturday against Vanderbilt. This is great news for the Huskies. Also, Jimmy Bennett is now expected to start at left tackle as starter Adam Masters is out with an arm injury. I [...]
Ugly duckling gets a chance
Not much on the conference call today. Biggest things are that Zach Frazer is taking the demotion OK. At least that’s according to Edsall. This is on the curve. He’s upset, but as long as he shows up to practice and isn’t a disturbance and genuinely somewhat helpful that’s taking it well. As far as [...]
Tuesday presser — Catnip edition
Catnip: an egg shaped mint leaf that is an attractant for cats. Welcome to the Tuesday press conference at the University of Connecticut catnip edition. What we have today is an irresistible offering of stories to talk about that has the media in a tizzy. There are two things that are catnip for sports writers. [...]
Monday news
Some decent news today and with the depth chart out for Vandy some interesting developments. First off, Kelemtrus Wylie is out for the year with a knee injury. That’s a terrible news. Wylie was going to get some carries in the second half against Buffalo and the first play he was in went a play-action [...]
Post game quickie
Huskies win 45-21 in a game that should be a turning point of the season. Here’s what we learned. The team is now Cody Endres’ While Zach Frazer didn’t get any help that first half, Endres provided a spark and led the team to 27 second half points. He throws a better ball than Frazer [...]
Halftime report — poor half for Huskies.
UConn 14, Buffalo 14. No energy, no focus. Huskies are in trouble and in turmoil. UConn has 11 carries for 23 yards in the rush game. Cody Endres is in at quarterback. There is no imagination on offense. Zach Frazer is the scapegoat, but the wide receivers have been terrible today and the offensive line [...]
Buffalo pregame
Greetings from the Rent. Interesting game here today. The Huskies are going to have to find some more options than Jordan Todman right, JT left and JT up the middle. That’s a scary thought, Todman accounts for 40 percent of the yardage for the Huskies. But for the long-term health of the Huskies this season [...]
Shoemate to start
Of course, things with UConn are never easy. On the WTIC-1080 coach’s show, Randy Edsall said that D.J. Shoemate is going to start and Meme Wylie will be the No. 2 back. What happened to Robbie Frey? Well, he’s on special teams? Why? He’s not on the injury report. Don’t know if it’s disciplinary or [...]
Shoemate No. 1 back, Frey special teams only
http://wtic.cbslocal.com/2010/09/23/coachs-show-with-randy-edsall-923/ Check out the coach’s show on TIC 1080. Todman is on along with Greg Lloyd. Bit of news, Robbie Frey is only going to play special teams this week. Shoemate and Wylie will be the 1-2 back. Frey isn’t on the injury report. Edsall refused to discuss any changes on Thursday afternoon.
What will Huskies look like without Todman?
This is going to be an interesting game on Saturday for the Huskies, and it isn’t going to be interesting in a good way. Where would the Huskies be without Jordan Todman? He’s their only explosive player on offense and at 5-foot-9 has been a complete work horse. How big a horse? He’s fourth in [...]
